It provides 48VDC power for multiple* PoE-equipped devices by "Injecting" DC power through the CAT5 Ethernet cable. It is compatible with Access Points and other equipment supporting the IEEE standard PoE pinout (Pins 4 & 5 Power + / Pins 7 & 8 Power -) and the 48VDC power. PLANET has released a series of DC single output industrial DIN-rail power supply units to make sure that industrial Ethernet devices, specially designed for the harsh working environment, get DC voltage power easily. While those different versions have existed for a long time, the first power solution for Industrial Ethernet was just released: EtherCAT P. In this blog post, I'll explain what EtherCAT. In order to meet the industry's new power requirements, MPS has developed a new power architecture, using a 48V distribution voltage that is capable of a 16x reduction in power distribution losses, in addition to presenting a 48V datacenter solution to address new design challenges.
